Growing Together: A Spring Update from Missoula Saws Inc.
Posted by the Missoula Saws Team
Every year around this time, we like to pull up a stool, dust off the sawdust, and tell you what’s been going on at the shop. It’s been a busy stretch, and we’re excited to share it.
We’ve Expanded Our Sharpening Shop
Demand for our sharpening service has grown steadily. Loggers, woodworkers, landscapers, and weekend hobbyists all keep us busy. To keep up, we’ve doubled the size of our sharpening bay and added two new precision grinding stations. Turnaround on most chainsaw chains and hand saws is now 24 to 48 hours, and we’re working toward same-day service for walk-ins.
Meet the New Faces
We’re proud to welcome three new team members:
- Dana Whitcomb, a 15-year veteran of the timber industry, now leads our repair department.
- Marcus Ortega joins our sales floor and can talk bar lengths and tooth patterns all day.
- Lily Tran, our new customer care coordinator, keeps orders and appointments running smoothly.
Say hello next time you stop by. They’re a great bunch.
New Products on the Shelves
We’ve expanded our lineup with several new arrivals:
- A line of lightweight battery-powered chainsaws, ideal for property cleanup and light limbing
- Premium Japanese pull saws for fine woodworking
- Low-kickback chains designed with safety in mind
- Extended-life bar oil made for Montana’s swing from summer heat to winter freeze
Not sure what fits your project? Our staff is happy to walk you through the options. We’d rather sell you the right saw once than the wrong one twice.
Free Saw Safety Workshops
Beginning next month, we’re hosting free monthly workshops in the shop on chainsaw handling, maintenance basics, and safe felling techniques. Whether you’re heating your home with firewood or clearing storm damage, these sessions are open to everyone. Space is limited, so sign up at the counter or give us a call.
Giving Back to the Community
This year, we’re proud to sponsor the Missoula Youth Woodshop Program, donating tools and maintenance to help local students learn the craft. We’re also partnering with local volunteer crews on fire-season fuel reduction projects, offering free blade sharpening for their equipment.
What’s Next
Big things are ahead, including an online ordering system so you can browse, reserve, and schedule sharpening from home. We’ll share more as it gets closer.
Thank you for being part of the Missoula Saws family. For more than a generation, this community has kept us sharp, and we plan to return the favor.
See you at the shop,
The Missoula Saws Inc. Team
